Day 19.1: Weird word origin footnote

In the headline of my blog for day 19, I referred to the grumpy guy on the road as a wretch.

Turns out the etymology means we have something in common:

Wretch
Origin:
before 900; Middle English wrecche, Old English wrecca  exile, adventurer; cognate with German Recke  warrior, hero, Old Norse rekkr  man.
An exile, an adventurer. Hmm, remind you of anyone?
